A composer and violinist, I hold a scholarship to study composition at the Royal Academy of Music with Gary Carpenter.
I studied composition with Brian Elias, Simon Speare and Robert Saxton at the Purcell School of Music and previously studied with Emma-Ruth Richards and Paul Whitmarsh. I was a Composer member of NYO in 2019 and was an Associate Composer with the Britten Sinfonia Academy in 2016/17. I play violin and viola to post Grade 8 standard.
A bass / baritone, I am also a choral scholar at St. Mary’s Church, Hendon.
My work has been performed at St James Church, Paddington, Kings Lynn Festival, St John’s Church, Waterloo, New Zealand House, The Deal Festival, The Royal Festival Hall, The Music Room at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, The New Auditorium, Glasgow, The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, West Rd Concert Hall, The Purcell School, Bedford School and compositions have been workshopped at the Barbican Centre and the Guildhall School of Music.
In June 2019 my Wind Quintet was performed at Wigmore Hall.
I have been commissioned to write for the Brandenburgisches Staatorchester Franfurt (Oder) for their Project Kaleidescope (sadly now postoned until 2022) and the ERSO for their 90th Birthday Concert at the Dukes Hall, Royal Academy of Music.
As the 6th recipient of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Christopher Brooks Composition Prize 2020 I will be writing for Ensemble 10/10 in 2021.
